Units: All DB12 subwoofers sold from 2017 to 2023.
Hazard: The subwoofer can overheat and pose a potential safety hazard.
Description: This recall involves all DB12 12-inch Powered Subwoofers. These subwoofers were sold individually or as part of speaker bundles.
Sold at: Online on Fluance.com, and other online marketplaces.
What should you do now?
- Unplug your DB12 subwoofer, regardless of date purchased or warranty status, and stop using it immediately.
- contact us by replying to the email notice, live chat or submit a case at support to get a return shipping label free of charge.
- We will provide you with one of two options as compensation:
- A DB10 Powered Subwoofer in addition to a refund of the difference in cost between the two products.
- A refund of the full purchase price of your DB12 Subwoofer.
Why are you recalling the DB12?
We recently identified an issue in rare cases where the subwoofer can overheat and pose a potential safety hazard. Out of an abundance of caution, and because your safety is our highest priority, we have made the decision to voluntarily recall all DB12 Powered Subwoofers that have been sold since 2017. We are conducting this recall because we want to ensure every unit performs the way our customers expect, and all our customers can use them safely.
Is this recall mandated by the government?
As your safety is our top priority, we have voluntarily made the decision to recall the DB12 Subwoofer out of an abundance of caution. This was not a government mandated recall.
Are there any risks to me if I keep the product?
Due to the possible risk of keeping the product, we require that you return your subwoofer. To compensate you for this, we can offer you a prepaid shipping label, and the choice of a DB10 Subwoofer plus the difference in cost, or a full refund of the purchase price of your DB12.
What if I received a free subwoofer as part of a promotion?
We will provide you with a refund equal to the cost of the DB12 at the time you placed your order.
What is the risk?
We are still investigating the root cause of the issue but are recalling the products out of an abundance of caution. We are unable to provide specific information currently.
Do I have to pay the return shipping cost?
We want to make this process as simple and convenient as possible for you. We will be providing you with a prepaid return label via email to cover the cost of return shipping.
I don’t have the packaging; how do I ship it back?
Please ship it back however you can. Regardless of the condition we receive it in, you will receive your chosen form of compensation. If you do not have a box, let us know and we will send you one. Our top priority is your safety, and we want to ensure that this process is as quick and convenient as possible for you.
Can I just throw the subwoofer in the garbage?
No, do not dispose of the subwoofer yourself. We will take the appropriate action once they arrive at our facility. We will not be able to refund the purchase price if the product is not returned to us.
Is my family or home at risk?
We are recalling the DB12 subwoofers out of an abundance of caution. As such, we recommend that you stop using it immediately.
How long do I have to ship it back?
Once we issue your prepaid UPS return label, you have 30 days to ship the product back at no cost.
Is there an expiration date for the DB12 recall?
No, there is no expiration date, however, the sooner you ship your product to us the sooner you will be compensated. The return shipping label will also expire after 30 days.
Can I take it to a repair shop?
No, you cannot take your subwoofer to a repair shop. We do not have a fix for this issue and internal schematics are confidential.
Does this affect any other products?
No, this recall only applies to the DB12 12” Powered Subwoofer.
Why can’t I get another DB12?
The recall covers all DB12 subwoofers which have been discontinued.
